Our answers to the questions you’re probably asking

An emotional reading journal is a digital notebook where you record not only the books you’ve read, but the emotions you felt while reading them: emotional intensity, spice level, content warnings and tropes.

Unlike a simple list of titles, it helps you get to know yourself better as a reader and guide your future choices. It’s an approach favored by the BookTok community, which chooses its reads for the emotional experience they promise.

Yes. The app was designed from the start as a bilingual French-English product, a positioning that sets it apart from the American apps that dominate this market.

The home page offers suggestions generated by algorithm and artificial intelligence based on your previous reads. You can also search by title, author or genre, and check community ratings.

A trope is a recurring narrative pattern, like « enemies to lovers » or « slow burn ». You can tag your reads by trope, but explicit trope search and filtering are coming in a future version.

The spice level is a scale that indicates the intensity of a book’s intimate scenes, often represented by peppers from 0 to 5. It appears on the book’s page, with half-values possible.

Three approaches exist: recommendation by popularity and community (Goodreads), by mood tags and stats (StoryGraph), and by algorithm and artificial intelligence based on reading history (Nōvele).

It all depends on your needs: a huge catalog and a large community (Goodreads), detailed stats and mood tags (StoryGraph), book clubs (Fable), or a bilingual experience centered on emotions with AI recommendations (Nōvele).

You record your position in the book (page or percentage), which lets you estimate what’s been read and what’s left to read. In Nōvele, this data also feeds your personal stats.

The TBR groups the books you own or want to read, but haven’t started yet. Nōvele lets you build and manage it to choose your next read.
